Bob

This is my second starter. I’ve used one several times and it is much easier and better than using cables.

Great way to avoid problems

My Harley Davidson motorcycle battery was too low to start the bike and I had to jump start the bike with my truck. This Duracell lithium jump starter is small enough to easily fit in the saddlebag so I never have to worry about a low battery again. Definitely gives me confidence on long rides

General Questions

The flashing green light on the end means that the jump starter is in stand-by mode, and ready to connect to your battery.

The jump started is connected correctly, and it is ready to start your vehicle.

There are several conditions that might be affecting your jump-starter. Once connected to the vehicle battery the jump-starters status LED should change from blinking green to solid green to indicate that it is ready to jump start. If your jump-starter continues to blink green the most common cause is a poor connection, the jump starter may not be making solid contact. Carefully clean the corrosion on your battery terminals and wiggle the clamp to ensure a solid connection. If this does not solve the problem it is possible that electrical loads like Headlights, Door lights, Trunk light or accessories plugged into the 12V socket have caused the battery to drain and these things are still on. Ensure that all vehicles electronics are in the off position and try again. If you are still experiencing problems your vehicle battery voltage may be below 3V even with a good connection and electrical loads turned off. If this is the case the battery may be severely damaged and it is not safe to jump-start your vehicle. If your jump-starter’s LED does transition from blinking green to solid green there could be a problem with your vehicle including no fuel, ignition problems or starter problems it may be time to call a mechanic. If you are sure your vehicle is in good working condition you may not have enough charge in the jump-starter to turn over your engine, please recharge the jump-starter and try again. If you are trying to jump start an extremely large engine or diesel the jump-starter may not have enough cranking power to turn it over and you need a larger jump starter.

The blinking green LED light indicates that you have activated the jump starter and it has entered a standby mode wherein it is waiting to connect to the the battery where it will search for both voltage and correct polarity, or placement of the clamps. If the the light continues to blink after the clamps have been correct attached to battery terminals then it is an indication that the jump starter did not make the connection with the battery smoothly. Poor contact with the terminals is the primary cause of the blinking green light after connection. Ensure there is no corrosion present on the battery terminals and ensure the clamps have a solid connection. If you are trying to jump start an extremely large engine or diesel the jump-starter may not have enough cranking power to turn it over and you need a larger jump starter.

After the clamps are plugged into the jump starter, the jump starter is activated and enters a standby mode wherein it is waiting to sense a connection to the vehicle. The blinking green light indicates this standby mode. If the blinking green light stops before connection is made with the vehicle, this is because after 10 minutes of not being connection to the vehicle battery it enteres a safety mode and automatically shuts down. To reactivate the jump starter, simply remove the clamps cable and then re-insert into the jump starter. The green LED lights should begin blinking again.

The blinking red LED light is an error indicator. There are four possible reasons the jump starter would signal an error.

  1. A short has been detected. Simply double check to ensure the clamps are securly connected and the battery terminals are clean of corrosion and try again.
  2. The jump starter has detected reverse polarity. Reverse polarity means the clamps were attached to the wrong battery terminals. If that has happened, carfully remove the clamps and conenct properly. The red clamp connects to the positive (+) terminal and the black to the negative (-).
  3. The jump starter has exceeded its internal temperature threshold and the Safety Protection has turned it off. Exceeding temperature limits is cause by extended cranking, or trying to start the engine for too long or too many times. In this situation disconnect the unit and allow it to cool down for at least 10 minutes then start again.
  4. Low charge. If the jumpstarter does not have enough charge then it cannot start the vehicle. This usually happens when the fuel gauge LED's are down to 1 or 2 lights being aluminated. In this case please plug in the jump starter to recharge.

In additon to this if you have the App installed the App will tell you what failure mode the unit is in.

Yes, please call our Customer Service department for assistance. Or search our website here (link to replacement accessories page).

Yes, if your battery is between 3V-9.5V then the jump starter should start your vehicle without issue. However, it will not jumpstart your battery if your battery is below 3V. For safety reasons, if the battery is below 3V, the jump starter will not detect that the battery is connected. If this is the case with your battery, your battery needs to be replaced entirely.

Yes, the jump starter comes with a 75% charge. Due to shipping regulations, lithium batteries cannot be charged beyond 75%, therefore we recommend that you fully chare your unit before using.

General rule is that most AC / Wall chargers with a micro-usb connector that are used for charging cell phones or tablets can be used to charge the jump starter. For best results use a 2.4A output charger.

The jump starters have many safety features built in. When the jumper cables do not detect that they are connected to a battery, they jump starter will not push any power through the cables. This is to avoid damaging the electrical system of your vehicle, in case one accidentally connects the cables incorrectly.

No, you would need to use a battery charger/maintainer to charge a battery. You can jump start your vehicle with a jump starter, then drive the vehicle to charge the battery.
