The charger is very well made, easy to use and works as stated. It replaces a .8 amp maintainer. The .8 amp unit had no cord on the charger and battery plug failed.
Easy to use; excellent phone support
I bought this Duracell 4 amp Battery Maintainer on the recommendation of my car dealership's service department, from one of the service advisors I've come to trust over the years. I was a little bit thrown by the instructions that came with it because of the many safety warnings, so I called the Customer Support phone number easily found on the instruction sheet, and spoke with Michelle in Tech Support. She was terrific, one of the best phone customer service/tech support agents I've ever run into, and was excellent at clearly explaining exactly how to use this Maintainer safely, what to look for on the readout window as I hooked it up to my car's battery, and also noting details that will be helpful in using this device for years to come. I then hooked it up to my car's battery quickly, with no problems at all, and really appreciated her help.
4 Amp Battery maintainer
I ordered this product for my tractor. Since it doesn't get started for weeks sometimes the computer and radio would drain the battery down and I was jumping it. I installed this product and have not jumped it since. It works exactly as they said it would. Fast shipping. Clear instructions. Very nice unit.
OK I find this product more than acceptable and doing the job it was advertised to do.
I must also say that the tech support was far better than I ever expected. Michelle was not only professional, courteous and knowledgeable, but , she made me feel like a valued customer as well. Rare this days. Kudos to Michelle
I would highly recommend this product

Yes. Once the battery is charged, you can leave the maintainer connected to the battery to keep the battery in a charged state, so it will be ready when you are. You only need to unplug the unit from the wall before starting your vehicle.
You would need to connect the the ring terminal to the bolt that comes out of the connector on your battery, not the battery post itself.
The charger has safety features built in. If the charger can not detect that it is connected to a battery, then it will not send a charge through the cables. Your battery must have at least 3 volts in order to be able to be charged.

No, but the higher the Ah the battery is, the longer it will take to charge the battery.
Auto shops test your battery for current under load. It will only show if the car will start. Your battery may still need to be charged longer to fully charge the battery.
Yes, please use the SLA setting, NOT the Li-Ion setting.
