4 amp battery charger
The charger is very well made, easy to use and works as stated. It replaces a .8 amp maintainer. The .8 amp unit had no cord on the charger and battery plug failed.

I bought this Duracell 4 amp Battery Maintainer on the recommendation of my car dealership's service department, from one of the service advisors I've come to trust over the years. I was a little bit thrown by the instructions that came with it because of the many safety warnings, so I called the Customer Support phone number easily found on the instruction sheet, and spoke with Michelle in Tech Support. She was terrific, one of the best phone customer service/tech support agents I've ever run into, and was excellent at clearly explaining exactly how to use this Maintainer safely, what to look for on the readout window as I hooked it up to my car's battery, and also noting details that will be helpful in using this device for years to come. I then hooked it up to my car's battery quickly, with no problems at all, and really appreciated her help.
4 Amp Battery maintainer
I ordered this product for my tractor. Since it doesn't get started for weeks sometimes the computer and radio would drain the battery down and I was jumping it. The charger reconditions the battery as it charges. It can take up to 24 hours to fully charge the battery. Once the battery is fully charged, the bar will no longer flash.

Yes. Once the battery is charged, you can leave the maintainer connected to the battery to keep the battery in a charged state, so it will be ready when you are. You only need to unplug the unit from the wall before starting your vehicle.
You would need to connect the the ring terminal to the bolt that comes out of the connector on your battery, not the battery post itself.
